During the past few months the CoLAB leadership team has been going through a strategic planning exercise to determine a common vision for the future.

What has been very exciting is the aha-moment we had when we managed to define CoLAB’s “Why”, which has been eluding us for many years. This is something Simon Sinek says is the crux of any business before you can define your “What” or “How”.

Our “Why” statement (which still needs some wordsmithing) is: “Unlocking NPV” (NPV = Net Present Value).

When unpacked it means that CoLAB releases the business value locked up in the whole project landscape. The beauty lies in its simplicity while allowing us to re-position CoLAB in the minds of the market away from “we are project managers” to “we unlock value”.

From this we were able to define some clear “packaged offerings” that speak directly to what our clients need while securing longer term steady business.

As I’m writing this, we are about to conclude our first deal to “Operate a PMO” for a full year with the option to renew for another year. You can understand when I say this has the leadership excited.

Our aim is to stack a few of these types of packaged solutions in Delivery, allowing us to be more intentional with our people development, resource optimization and profitability.

We will keep you “In the Loop” as we redesign more packaged solutions behind this new approach.

I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of the Manco team over this period in their efforts and commitment. I’ve seen some significant stepping up happening that encourages me. They have pulled together in unity behind a common vision and we know where there is unity, a blessing follows.

Furthermore, I’d like to thank each of you for remaining patient and committed as we re-invent CoLAB. Your support is what keeps us going in building this business we love.
